What is 211?

211 is a non-emergency helpline that connects people with local community resources and health and social services.

Contacting 211 connects with a trained specialist who helps people identify, navigate, and connect with services like food banks, SNAP, housing and shelter, health care, child care, utility assistance, mental health, employment, consumer services, transportation options, and much more.

211 is free and confidential, and referrals are based on a comprehensive database of local services.

Using 211 services is for all Oregonians, think of us like the front door to finding help when you’re not sure how to get started.

Who is 211info?

211info is the private, Oregon-based nonprofit organization who manages 211 services for all 36 counties in Oregon. We are funded by state and municipal contracts, foundations, donations, and community partners.

In addition to traditional community navigation/information and referral (I&R) services, 211info provides specialized resource navigation focusing on specific types of referrals, such as SNAP and food access, child care, housing and shelter, maternal and child health, disaster response and recovery, and more.

Mission

Empower Oregon communities by helping people identify, navigate, and connect with the local resources they need.

Vision

We are the trusted leader and partner in advancing well-being for all through equitable access to local community services.

Commitment to Strengthening Communities

We believe everyone should be able to access the help they need. As a community connector, we are committed to ensuring our services are accessible, responsive, and informed by the needs of the diverse communities we serve.

We recognize that barriers exist in accessing health and social services, and we work to reduce those barriers by listening to our communities, refining our operations, and strengthening our partnerships to make navigating resources easier for everyone.

Our work is grounded in continuous learning, accountability, and a commitment to serving all people with dignity and respect. These values guide our approach as we work to build stronger, more connected communities across Oregon.

I had a family who recently arrived here to Portland from Africa and they needed support and resources so I spoke to one of your intake counselors and I want to say that I give her 10 stars. She was very helpful...Thank you for your program and your intake counselors and the work you do. It’s very appreciated. Thank you.
