The Athens Farmers Market tomorrow is an excellent opportunity to support some of your local producers (and many ACEnet Food Ventures clients) who were rained out at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival last weekend! Root 56 Farm -Athens, OH Spicy Pawpaw Jam, Dark Chocolate Fudge w/Smoked Pepper & Sea Salt from a Root 56 and My Sarahs Sweets collab (there's actually 8 different flavors of fudge if pepper's not your thing), Lone Wolf Lavender Pawpaw Simple Syrup, and more! Also, pawpaw inspired artwork from the Athens Art Guild, pumpkins, and dogs! ... See MoreSee Less

We’d like to thank everyone who came out to our Happy Hour at Jackie O's Brewery this month, and shout out to @ahtheworld and @the_holes_athens for the music! (Check 'em out on Instagram!)

Just a quick reminder that you can support ACEnet all September long by ordering 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗲'𝘀 𝗞𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀, a cocktail inspired Ale with honey, lemon and gin botanicals, or 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱, an American Pale Ale. Each purchase gets you a donation chip that you can then drop into ACEnet's container. Thank you, and thank you Jackie O's!

Rural Action's 25th annual ginseng sale is now open and taking orders! These seeds are stratified and ready to plant. You can order for shipping or local pick up at their Forestry Offices on Baker Road in Athens.

Why ginseng? American ginseng has a rich history of use, and can add a valuable element to local woodlands. It is grown for its medicinal properties and is highly valued in the herbal products market. As such, it has been over-harvested throughout its range, but planting it from seed can help conserve ginseng populations, ensure sustainable harvest, and potentially provide supplemental income!

ACEnet Workforce Development Coordinator, Gabrielle Francis, recently kicked off another Food Industry Ready cohort from Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program!

Participants will earn their ServSafe Manager Certification, get on-site work experience in the ACEnet Food Ventures kitchen with our food entrepreneurs, and make community network connections. They'll finish the program with an industry-recognized credential and valuable work experience, hopefully leading to an accelerated path to employment in an in-demand sector with growing opportunities and wages.

We’re proud to support Workforce participants as they build skills, gain experience, and take the next step toward meaningful careers!
