Because it works

Using small ball techniques, Will Venable's team played for one run and scored three times in the 6th inning against Houston today.

The White Sox had two hitters reach by taking bases on balls. Next the runners executed a double steal while the batter was attempting to bunt. After squaring up, the batter pulled his bat back as the runners stole second and third base.

The rattled Astros' pitcher served up a home run afterwards to the batter who had been instructed to bunt earlier in the same at bat.

Good use small ball techniques because these tactics work and often yield more than one run.
