UPCOMING EVENTS

2026 AGM & POTLUCK

4th October, 12-1pm

Join us for our Annual General Meeting, and optional potluck! As well as some board formalities, we will be reflecting on our achievements this year, and thinking about the year ahead. Afterwards, the final compost-mentis codesign workshop will begin…!

FINAL COMPOST-MENTIS CODESIGN WORKSHOP

4th October, 1.30-4.30pm

At this final session on Sunday, we will hone these dreams by looking at limitations – how big is ‘big’? What can we fit in the site? Where does it need to be placed so it’s near a water source? Will anything need to move to accommodate the new structure? What shall we do with the old compost toilet – keep it or remove it?

Come along to be part of this final design workshop, and contribute your thoughts! Drinks and snacks provided, and you do not need to have come to the previous sessions.

REGULAR GROUPS

Family folk music session

Last Sunday of the month at 10:30am
An informal community-run music session, hosted at The Children’s Allotment. A playful intro for kids to making music together, group singing and learning about musical instruments and musical traditions. For adults: a chance to play and learn songs that kids enjoy and meet other people who enjoy that. Children should come with an adult.

As this event is not run by The Children’s Allotment, the best way for last minute updates on sessions running is to join the WhatsApp group – please email [email protected] if interested, and we will put you in touch!

Growing Group Fridays

Every Friday at 10.00 – 13.00
We’re on site every Friday with young families involved in the Growing Group – seeding, weeding, growing and harvesting food and flowers in our polytunnel raised beds. Learn gardening skills together and grow your own tasty food! Family friendly but also for adults who want an active lunch break! Children should come with an adult.

Fridays are also open for volunteers to help maintain the site. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in adopting a raised bed or volunteering on site regularly.

Fruit Patch – Queer Community Allotment

Every Saturday at 1pm-4pm
Every other Saturday, Fruit Patch meet to garden, socialise and do outdoor crafts. They are a queer- and disabled-led gardening group – check out their website for more information and to join.
