⚠️ Temporary Pause on Tire Recycling at the South Easthope LandfillDue to provincial changes to the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act (RRCEA) Tires Regulation (O. Reg. 225/18) that took effect on January 1, 2025, Perth East, along with many municipalities across Ontario, is experiencing an overflow of used tires that are not being collected by the recycling system.
As a result, the Township has made the difficult decision to temporarily pause the acceptance of used tires at the South Easthope Landfill.
We understand this may be inconvenient and appreciate your patience. As soon as we are able to resume accepting used tires, we will provide an update.
